I was taken for a mental health assessment as a result of a falling out with my family advice appreciated?
I was taken for a mental health assessment around two years ago after my mum and dad went to see a doctor and claimed i was depressed. I was only there for 24 hours but i was put onto a section as i had refused to go voluntarily as i didn't feel I had any problems. As soon as I explained my version of event the section was immediately rescinded and I was diagnosed with no mental health problems, However since then my life has completely fallen to pieces. The whole experience has destroyed my confidence and i have been totally cut off from Society since, my health and quality of life has deteriorated. I have not been to the doctors since what happened as i felt so let down in the system as they incorrectly took my freedom from me. I feel that if i go to a docto and say I am feeling low they will just put me in touch with a mental health services. advice needed
I'm scared to get a mental health assessment/should I?
So they think I'm bipolar and want me to see a doctor, but the thing is, as much as i want help, i love it. When i am like i am now, i have lots of friends, I'm happy, i get REALLY GOOD grades nothing else matters, and even when I'm depressed i like it because i feel happy that I can end it all, i become obsessed with suicide and even though my grades drop, i lose my friends and i cry and self harm every night, it doesn't matter even when i feel so much pain i feel peaceful like I'm dying. Part of me wants to get diagnosis because it would explain so much and then teacher and what not will understand and leave me alone, but i don't want to be put on drugs that make me emotionally absent.The cardinal symptoms of mania are the following heightened mood either euphoric or irritable flight of ideasand pressure of speech and increased energy, decreased needfor sleep, and hyperactivity.This is what people tell me.I guess euphoria was when i was walking in the road with my eyes closed at night with headphones on because i dunno why. irritable, punching a brick wall, frequent arguments and aggression. It really does sound like me to the T, but i only really notice after or when people keep asking me i'm on drugs as i often can't sit still or shut up rambling on... I'm not trying to justify it, i don't really believe in mental illnesses as such but everyone else does...

My doctor has referred me to a psychologist for a mental health assessment and I'm just wondering what to expect at this appointment? I have had symptoms of depression for quite some time and have a hard time trusting and communicating with loved ones. What exactly does a psychologist do?

my problems are my sex drive is high lol i get really depressed i dont sleep i go on a hype i hardly eat depending on what mood im in if im down i stay in if im on a hype i go out i drink abit i split up with my bf but i do love him i still ended up sleeping with someone else if i want sex i will find someone but afterwards i feel dirty this isnt me if im down i come out with thing like whats the point in living if your already dead my temper is quite bad
Who should i see for overall health assessment?
I want to see a general natural health practitioner, who will be able to asses my health and address all issues as well as recommend necessary therapies, treatment, dietary lifestyle changes etc.I was thinking maybe a naturopath but i dont know if they do this, do they? Who would it be that i need to see for this?
I need to get a mental health assessment done.?
I am being forced to do this by the Social Sevices really against my will. I do not feel i have a problem it is my Wife who was acting strangely in the house. And outside of the house which has seen my child being taken away through not coping with the child. Now they are askng me to see my GP to get an assessment done. It's nonsense i have a great job with a worlwide comany with a degree in engineering. What can i do now to make these people see i am not the problem here.sorry for the spelling mistakes

I am thinking about having a BUPA classic health assessment done. This would involve a mammogram, smear, full blood tests, hearing, vision, heart ECG and lung function tests. Turned 40, recently stopped smoking and want a health check. Have any of you out there had one and if so, what do you think?
